Is Your Plant Getting Enough Light? Signs to Look For

Plants can't tell you they're hungry for light, but they show it.. If you know the signs, you can fix the problem before the plant gives up.

The signs

Leggy, stretched growth. Long stems with big gaps between leaves mean the plant is reaching for light it can't find. Smaller or paler new leaves. New growth that comes in small, pale, or washed-out is a classic low-light tell. Leaning hard toward the window. Every plant leans a little; a plant bent sideways toward the glass is asking for more. Slow or stalled growth. A plant that barely grows during the growing season, despite water and feeding, is often just short on light.

What actually helps

First, move the plant closer to your brightest window, but keep most houseplants out of harsh midday direct sun, which can scorch leaves. Rotate the pot regularly so growth stays even instead of one-sided. And if your brightest window still isn't enough (a north-facing room, a dark winter, a deep shelf), supplement it.. A full-spectrum grow light on a regular daily rhythm gives the plant the light the room can't, and a dimmer lets you match the brightness to the plant instead of blasting it.

That's what the Bloom Light is for: a USB Type-C powered, full-spectrum angel-ring grow light with an inline dimmer, for the spots in your home where the sun doesn't quite reach. It ships from US stock. Bloom wherever you are, even in the dim corner..
